On Sunday, Brittany Lang became the first of 16 Duke University players to win on the LPGA Tour.
'I've heard from just about everybody related to the Duke family - my golf coach, all the players, everybody who was at Duke supporting me,' Lang said Tuesday on 'Morning Drive.' 'It's been phenomenal. It still blows my mind that I'm the first Duke player to win an LPGAtournament.'
Lang emerged victorious in a four-player, three-hole playoff for the inaugural Manulife Financial LPGA Classic in Waterloo, Canada.
Not only did Lang break the 'Duke Curse' on the LPGA Tour but finally broke through after six runner-up finishes since 2005.
The accomplishment has drawn a lot of attention from the school which is based in Durham, N.C. Lang, however, is yet to hear from perhaps the most famous Blue Devil of them all: head men's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski. Lang was not sure her win merited a call from the coach.
'I don't think I'm that important,' she said, 'to hear from Coach K.'
